Magic

  Magic is everywhere and we come in contact with it everyday. I’m not talking about magic you find in the pages of a book, or in a fictional movie, I’m talking about magic in “the real world”.

  Magic is not spells nor is potions, magic is made of fleeting moments that, unfortunately we usually don’t recognize as moments of true happiness. Like, when your morning coffee tastes perfect or when you read a good book, even when you get the chance to sleep until late or stay home on a rainy day and do nothing. We take them for granted because we don’t find them to be as significant as buying a new car or winning the lottery and that’s sad, because every great day that you have is formed of all those little moments of happiness. What makes them magical is the fact that they are not permanent, because things that are always there, lose their charm after a while and they don’t make us as happy as they used to.

  Second source of magic, in my opinion, are people. I don’t think that there are special people, “magical people”, I believe that we all have magic inside of us and, that it reflects by showing kindness, understanding and compassion for others, not just friends and family, but for people you don’t actually know. Like, helping an old person to cross the street or giving money to a homeless person or simply being polite at a grocery store or post office. It may not seem like something important to you but to a person who worked with unpleasant people whole day, it actually makes a difference. Unconditional kindness is maybe the rarest type of magic nowadays because most of us, unfortunately, when we are kind to someone, we expect kindness in return.

  Third, and maybe the most important type of magic, is love. I suppose it sounds like a cliche but I honestly believe that love is magic. I know that scientist have explained love as a mixture of chemicals we produce when we see or think about the object of our love, but, if it’s so easily explained why don’t we produce that same mixture for everyone? Love is something unexplainable but something we can’t live without. When you love someone, you can list all the things you like or love about them but explaining why you love specifically that one person is a bit harder. Those qualities you listed, you would be able to find in someone else but they wouldn’t feel as good and as right as they do within the person that you love. The fact that you can’t explain it, makes love so magical. Love reveals the best in us and shares it with a person who appreciates it. 

  To sum it up, I just want you to experience every moment, live for every breath and enjoy every second of every day because world is a wonderful place and magic is all around us, and all we have to do is see it.
